Morris Inn and Sacred Heart Basilica Notre Dame Wedding Photos | Mary + Joe

Mary and Joseph tied the knot at Notre Dame’s Sacred Heart Basilica last Spring.  We had a lot fun making light-hearted jabs at their names, but the joy that this couple exuded is paramount to what makes my job so worth it.  Sometimes I feel like a broken record when I meet with couples and repeat the same sentiment over and over again, but it’s a message worth echoing,  “Your only job on your wedding day is to have an amazing time with your friends and family.  Even if it pours cats and dogs, Uncle Phil backs into the wedding cake while attempting his best reiteration of Knute Rockne’s Win One for the Gipper speech and the Best Man accidentally tips your Uber driver with the wedding rings the night before… as long as you’re having a great time even when everything doesn’t go as planned, I can create wedding photos that will bring back the joy and laughter of the day for years to come.

Mary and Joe had a look of bliss and contentment across their faces the entire day, and it was a long day.  The couple deviated from a more traditional wedding schedule and opted for a sit-down brunch reception at Notre Dame’s Morris Inn following the Basilica ceremony and then returned with their guests in the evening for a less formal dance party accompanied by festive food stations.  Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press, an amazing band out of Chicago, kept the party going well into the night and Merry Me Events planned all the beautiful details that made the day go off without a hitch.  As always, the staff at The Morris Inn and VenueND did a phenomenal jobUncle Phil didn’t knock over the cake, but if he had, I’m certain Mary and Joe would have laughed it off and kept rolling with the party the remainder of the night.
